We are looking for a Controller (Director Level) to report directly to the CFO and serve as the financial bedrock of Candid Health. In this role, you won't just "run the books"—you will architect the financial infrastructure to support Candid Health's fast-paced growth. This role will be responsible for scaling our core accounting functions including close, technical accounting, controls, compliance, and reporting.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with practical operational leadership. You are as comfortable in the weeds of complex reconciliations as you are partnering with executives on long-term strategy.
The estimated starting annual salary range for this position is $215,000 - $255,000 USD. The listed range is a guideline from Pave data, and the actual base salary may be modified based on factors including job-related skills, experience/qualifications, interview performance, market data, etc. Total compensation for this position may also include equity, sales incentives (for sales roles), and employee benefits. Given Candid Health’s funding and size, we heavily value the potential upside from equity in our compensation package. Further note that Candid Health has minimal hierarchy and titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
We are an in-person culture. We believe the best work happens when we are in the same room and our ideal weekly schedule is 4 days working from one of our offices (San Francisco, New York, or Denver) and 1 day working remotely.
We’re fixing one of the most broken and costly pieces of the US healthcare system: medical billing.
Today, healthcare providers spend over $250B each year on administrative overhead just to get paid by insurance. Medical billing is expensive because it’s nuanced and hard - maybe ~100x harder than credit card payment processing - and because it’s traditionally done by armies of humans who track and manage complex rules and processes specific to individual insurance companies with little or no supporting software.
We’re rethinking medical billing from the ground up, using data science and machine learning to automate much of this complexity, so healthcare providers can get paid dramatically more easily and inexpensively.
Since finishing the Y Combinator W20 batch we've been funded by an incredible group of funds + angel investors. We have many more customers begging to use our product than we have bandwidth to serve, which is why we need you to help us scale!
