You’ll work directly with the CEO and take end-to-end responsibility for core systems: maintaining and improving shipping workflows, automating QA and reviewing systems, launching a new front-end, maintaining geospatial pipelines, building APIs/integrations for operators, optimizing infrastructure costs, and potentially launching new features to track emissions.

Ideal locations in one of our offices: Germany, Cape Town, or London
After a difficult restructuring last year, Orbio is now growing again on the back of stronger business momentum. This is the first key technical hire in our next chapter: you’ll own the methane product while working alongside a small team focused on building our new renewables product, MeanderX.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build with speed.
Orbio uses satellite imagery to track methane emissions from the oil & gas industry. We sell the data to financial companies that want to invest into the best performing energy companies.
The company is founded by Rob Huppertz, who previously developed ML models at NASA Harvest to detect methane emissions from agriculture, and Jack Angela, who has a background in methane from working with Shell to detect methane leaks on LNG tankers.
In the last 3 months, we launched our first product and closed $850k ARR with some of the biggest oil & gas companies in the world. We are in full pace towards raising a Series A next year and are excited for the best talents to join our spaceship.
