Payment infrastructure for AI agents

We make your agents pay. As agents evolve from tools into dependable, autonomous actors, they’ll need the ability to execute open-ended workflows end-to-end. This inevitably means payments: accessing paywalled data, transacting for services or with other specialist agents. But autonomy requires guardrails. Businesses and developers will need a way to ensure their agents only spend how much and on what they’re supposed to. The machine economy is coming, and Locus (YC F25) is building the connector businesses will need to participate. We connect agents securely to funds, letting you define permissions and limits for every transaction. Each payment is traceable, auditable, and fully reconcilable with your existing financial stack.

Hey everyone 👋

On Monday, June 15th, at 8am PST we're launching Locus Founder (https://locusfounder.com/), an AI agent stack that builds and runs an internet business for you. You bring the idea, it does the rest, and you drive the whole thing by texting it (iMessage, SMS, Telegram, or web).

What it does

Text it an idea and it goes to work. It researches you and proposes a business aligned to who you are, does market research across 40+ paid data APIs, generates a full brand kit, and builds and deploys a real full-stack website (frontend, backend, database, the works). From there it sources products (print-on-demand, digital goods, or a curated catalog of 500+ dropshippable products), runs outbound across email and social, sources leads from Apollo, Google Maps, Reviews, Instagram, YouTube, and Yelp, generates short-form video ads and posts them to Meta, and handles payments (USDC direct transfers, card in/out). Loki, our mascot, is the face guiding you through all of it.

The backstory

A lot of you watched the earlier pieces ship, so the arc will be familiar.

We started with Pay With Locus, non-custodial wallet infrastructure so AI agents could spend money safely, with spending controls and auditability built in. The feedback was consistent: why would we give an agent money when there's nothing for it to buy?

So we built the supply. Build With Locus (full-stack deployments for agents via pay-per-use API endpoints), a catalog of 40+ pay-per-use data APIs, and Checkout With Locus (a Stripe-style, machine-readable payment SDK that takes USDC, is human-or-agent payable, and settles funds straight back into the agent's Locus wallet).

Then users hit us with the real one: why would I still give it money if it can't earn me any back? I'm not comfortable handing my agent a dollar knowing it can't reasonably make me one.

That question is the entire reason Locus Founder exists: the AI agent that earns you a dollar by running your business, just by texting it. And it's an evolution of everything we've built. Every Locus Founder user is a Pay With Locus user (credits run off our wallets), a Build With Locus deployment (sites deploy on BWL), and a consumer of our pay-per-use API suite. It's the first app anyone can pick up and use, sitting on top of all of our infrastructure.

The honest why underneath it: the K-shaped economy framing has never sat right with me. The tools to build aren't so expensive that people are fully priced out yet. There's still a window where someone can make an active effort to change their trajectory. Locus Founder is our effort. It's for the people who always wanted to start something but kept running out of time, money, skills, or resources. We're bringing the same AI tools us folks in tech have been bragging about for two years directly to everyone else, in a form they can actually use. Above all else, our goal is to earn our users a dollar.

Pricing (kept honest): We’re doing limited daily free usage so people can try the product instantly. Additionally, we have a subscription for $50/mo which includes effectively unlimited access. We take 5% of profits only above $1,000/mo, and nothing under that. Our goal is truly for our users to earn.

My asks

  1. Try the onboarding and tell me where it's rough. I want the brutal version. locusfounder.com
  2. Intros to anyone who's always wanted to start something but never had the time. That's exactly who we built this for.

Thank you all. This community has been a huge part of getting us here.

Cole
