Smartbase is an AI-native ERP for manufacturers. Over the past six weeks, we’ve grown from $0 to $171k in contracted ARR. Three months ago, we slept at a factory to learn what manufacturers want. First, we learned that they want to automate their office work, like quoting and order entry. Our first customer signed a nearly $100k annual contract, on top of a $150k implementation fee, just for an ERP that automates this office work. They're already asking us to tackle bigger problems, like improving their margins and the quality of their product. We're in a $6B vertical where people want to adopt a new ERP. And since we’re the system of record, our product is incredibly sticky — much more sticky than AI point solutions on top.

Today, incoming purchase orders are still entered into the ERP by hand.

This process often requires multiple full-time employees, especially for manufacturers doing custom or high-mix work.

Orders arrive in every format imaginable: paper, email, fax, and sometimes even handwritten.

The Solution

Here’s how Smartbase automates order entry:

Import POs: Upload scanned orders to Smartbase, or connect Smartbase to your inbox for emailed orders.
Automatic data extraction: Our AI turns even the messiest POs into ERP-ready data using your custom business rules (e.g. customer-specific pricing).
Review and approve: Review orders in our dashboard, then click approve. They'll appear in your ERP.
Automatically print travelers: Optionally, Smartbase can automatically print the travelers from your ERP.

We’ve worked on factory floors, sat side-by-side with employees to learn their workflows, and even slept at a factory.

Sam (CEO) previously founded a DevOps platform that raised $2M. Taira (CTO) was the youngest SDE 2 at AWS SageMaker Inference, where he built AI infrastructure for enterprises such as Salesforce.
